Background
Natural Wings is based in Perth Western Australia. Since establishing in 2005, Australian audiences (and beyond) have been spellbound by the dynamic and lyrical work of founder, Dawn Strindberg.
Dawn has extensive experience in the Arts, and has two performance based degrees:
- Diploma in Circus Arts (CircoArts, New Zealand)
- BA in Theatre Arts (Western Australia's Academy of Performing Arts)
She constantly draws on her years of training in circus, theatre and dance to create unique and highly skilled pieces of art.
Be it a full length circus-theatre show or a 7 minute feature act, each performance is delivered with precision, passion, creativity and an attention that ensures the perfect performance for each occasion.
Costume design, choreography, devising theatre, directing, painting and running a business is just a few hats that Dawn wears daily.
She performs constantly at Gala Balls and Festivals, and has a passion for devising new circus theatre.
Her show, "The Life of Eileen" won "Best Solo Show" at the Wellington Fringe Festival 2006, and has since been performed in Christchurch and Perth. More recently "Catch Me" has been co devised with Nick Candy and performed at various festivals in WA.
Dawn is open to new ventures, performances and directing. She constantly collaborates with performers such as;
Nick Candy, Jenny Ritchie (Suspend Aerial Circus Theatre), Laura Motherway and Marisa Gareffa (Mondo di Corpo), Isobel Lyall (Disco Cantito) and Empress Stilt Dance.
